4:30 - 5:30 p.m.  

Complete lessons already started. 

Do final edits on existing lessons and hotlists.  Place the final copies in Final Copy folder. 

Edits for hotlists should include

  1. title

  2. author(s)

  3. e-mail address (This will be omitted after the lesson is posted to the web.  It will be used as a contact if there are further questions by us about the lesson.

  4. Title of Web site using caps and lower case letters (not all caps).

  5. URL of each site.

  6. Optional 1-sentence description of the site.

    (Hyperlinks are an option.)


If you have time, select one of these to do:

  • Generate a lesson that requires students to make a timeline.  This lesson will have a specific set of Web sites for students to visit.

  • Create a lesson that requires students to create a word quilt, encyclopedia of event, picture dictionary related to a topic.  This lesson will have a specific set of Web sites for students to visit.

 

5:30--6:00 p.m.  Create a Professional Presentation--how would you explain this process to someone else.

Presentation proposals should be submitted on-line or faxed to 620-663-5734 by May 1, 2002.

  • Title

  • Description (250 words or less)

  • Type (informational--45 minutes, hands on--1 1/2 hours)

  • Needs (LCD projector, Internet connection, desktop computer)

  • Presenter information with short bio

Mid-American Association for Computers in Education (MACE)

MACE Call for Proposals

Name and contact information for all presenters.

Title of Proposal (10 words or less)

Presentation Type:

  • 1 hour demo/lecture

  • 1 hour Round Table

  • 1.5 hour Hands-on Lab

  • 2 hour Hands-on Lab

  • All day Poster Session (display)

Description: "Accurate, enticing description for use in Advance and Final Programs" (75 word limit).

Text of Proposal "(Recommended length is approximately 1-page/100-500 words.)
Keep in mind that the proposal reviewers may not know you or your reputation. The only information they have is what you submit in your proposal. In addition to your response to the below items, the comitte will evaluate your proposal for its:

  • relevance to the educational technology field,
  • educational significance, and
  • ease of replication.
  1. Identify the intended participant outcomes for the session. (What will participants know and be able to do as a result of participation in this workshop?)
  2. Identify any prerequisite participant skills/knowledge required.
  3. Use the TAKE a STEP Model (http://www.taken.org/ - will open in new window) of Awareness, Literacy, Integration, Innovation, and Leadership to describe what step your presentation targets
  4. Will you be presenting or discussing specific products in your workshop? If yes, please describe.
  5. Will you be addressing any national, state, or local curricula or technology integration standards such as ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Students (see http://cnets.iste.org/), or the McREL Compendium of Standards and Benchmarks (see http://www.mcrel.org/standards-benchmarks/) in your presentation/workshop? If yes, please reference.
  6. Describe your experience and expertise in the proposed workshop area.
