Was he a madman, like the picture in the State Capital mural portrays him to be???  John Brown was an important part of the State of Kansas History in relations to slavery before the civil war.

1.    John Brown witnessed something when he was twelve years old that haunted him forever. What did he see? How would seeing what he saw make you feel? How did the incident influence John Brown in years after?

2.    Who does John Brown follow to Kansas and why?

3.    What happens at Pottawatomie Creek?

 

After answering the above questions and viewing the timeline, write a summary (Retell) John Brown’s life.  Writing a brief summary that ties closely with the timeline.
