Ch. 1, pg. 16-19 Technology:
Instructional Input: Ear Activity: 1. Have students close their eyes.
For two minutes, no one makes a sound.
They only listen to the sounds around them. After the two minutes, students list the different sounds
that they heard. 2. Brainstorm with the class the different ways that hearing is
needed in our everyday activities. 3. Compare and contrast with the class how their lives would be
different with and without the sense of hearing. 4. Direct students to the Story Page where they will take a
short quiz on hearing and then watch a movie about the make-up and
function of the ear. Eye Activity: 1. Choose 2 students to demonstrate the Importance of vision by
having one student put on a blindfold and stand at the doorway while the
second student verbally guides the first to his desk. 2. Brainstorm with the class the different ways that vision Is
needed In our everyday activities. 3. Compare and contrast with the class how their lives would be
different with and without the sense of vision. 4. Direct students to the Story Page where they will take a
short quiz on vision and then watch a movie about the make-up and function
of the eye.
