  It's not necessary to be a technology expert to successfully integrate technology into the classroom. The more comfortable we are with computer concepts, though, the more easily we can work with technology. And we gain the ability to communicate clearly with those who are experts.

 Listed are some resources to guide your discovery of Computers 101, the ABCs of Networking and useful Tech Terms to translate the computerese.  Explore!

 

Computers 101

The Journey Inside is an interactive, multimedia web site from Intel that explains how technology works.  The site provides a teacher's guide to adapt the presentation to classroom use.

If you can hit it with a hammer, it's hardware; if you can only curse at it, it's software.

Gates of Creation from ThinkQuest is a robust teaching and learning site about computer hardware. Check out the teacher resources.

How Stuff Works: Computers! covers plenty of hardware topics and also includes links to valuable "how" and "why" articles. 

Jan's Illustrated Computer Literacy provides good visuals of the front, back and inside of a computer.

Network Basics is a concise, well-designed site from About.Com.
