Three teams of teacher education faculty
worked over three semesters to discuss, develop, and propose a technology
integration plan for the College's teacher education program. The
discussions were rich with ideas and information. Faculty from all four
Blocks of teacher education courses were involved in the development of the
final proposal.
The current draft of the proposal
includes an integration grid of technology to be included in each Block, a
list of prerequisite technology skills students need before they enter each
block for advisory purposes, and a draft of a portfolio documentation page
to demonstrate how students have met the six major standards of the ISTE
NETS*T standards for professional preparation. The proposal is now being
presented to all teacher education faculty for final approval.
