Laptops in the Classroom
is a hands-on workshop for any educator who wants to learn more about
techniques and applications for using wireless computers to teach and learn.
PC laptops and iBooks will be provided or you can bring your own. Guest K12
teachers will be invited to share their classroom experiences.
During the workshop,
participants will:

Evaluate wireless v. wired
computer solutions
-
Examine resources for developing units and lessons that integrate laptop
use.

Study project examples and the curricular goals and standards they meet
-
Consider equitable use and develop methods for scheduling equipment
-
Discuss equipment management, logistics and organization.

Examine proper use and discuss how to handle infractions
-
Plan how to protect equipment and how to deal with damage or loss
-
Explore laptop peripherals (digital cameras, projectors, scanners,
whiteboards, probes, carts)

Assess PCs and Macs
