  • 4.0Student coursework, (instructor information, textbooks, grading policies) class information (homework, tests, due dates), and grade tracking software.

  • ArsLexis Thesaurus is the Palm version of Roget's.
  • AvantGo is freeware that downloads the contents of the web pages you choose and syncs them to your handheld.
  • CSpotRun is a highly rated ebook reader. Freeware
  • Diddlebug turns the handheld into a sketch pad, a reminder and an alarm. Freeware.
  • Documents to Go is actually a combination of Word to Go, Sheet to Go and (in the professional edition) Slide to Go.  These sync with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Due Yesterday tracks classes, classwork and grades. Freeware.

  • HanDbase Design  your own custom databases or download from the 1000 databases already created.
  • Mobile Mentor is an economical bundle of several applications. The Educator, Collegiate and Student options are each configured slightly differently, but typical apps include Docs to Go, ThoughtManager, an ebook reader, a thesaurus/ spellchecker, 4.0Student. Ships on CD.
  • Noah dictionaries are the largest English dictionary for Palm devices.  The Lite version is free.
  • PenJammer teaches you the entire Graffiti symbol set by having you trace over a glyph on the screen, then testing the result.
  • PicoMap, freeware developed by Hi-CE, is a graphic concept map program--Inspiration for the Palm.
  • Quizzler is easy-to-use quiz authoring software and it's free.
  • Sketchy, an animation/drawing tool, is freeware from HI-CE.
  • SmartList to Go, a powerful relational database, is easy to use and has a built-in forms designer (formerly called ThinkDB).
  • Suite for Teachers  includes discipline log, student tracker, observation log, planning book, grade book and teacher tracker.
  • T-Blaster is a graphically attractive game that teaches graffiti and keyboarding.
  • Teacher's P.E.T. There are several applications available for teachers, but this is one of the more comprehensive and appealing to use.
  • ThoughtManager is an organizer that helps create lesson plans, outlines, project plans and checklists and there is a version specifically for educators.
  • WordSmith,  a full-featured word processor also includes an e-book reader.
  • WPM freeware measures Graffiti words per minute
