 Hello,
My name is Larry Gwaltney and I
am the Program Evaluator for Project M3 and the Lead Program
Evaluator for the PRAIRY Technology
Innovation Challenge Grant. Four years ago, after thirty-one years
of service to Public Education in Kansas, I formed Allied Educational
Research and Development Services (AERDS) based in Wichita, Kansas. My
associates and I are involved in conducting independent program evaluations,
facilitating grant writing projects and conducting survey research. Most of
my experience in Kansas involved working for 30 years in USD259, Wichita
Public Schools as a teacher, building principal and central office
administrator. During my last five years with the district, I served as
Executive Director of Research, Evaluation and Pupil Assessment.
In addition to my duties with the school district, I also found time to
teach periodically as a guest lecturer at Wichita State University in the
graduate programs involving Educational Administration and Curriculum and
Instruction. My primary teaching areas at WSU involved courses dealing with
Action Based Research and School Improvement Processes.
On a personal note, I have been married to my wife Mary Jo for 29 years
and we have a son, Ryan, who is a senior in Chemical Engineering at The
University of Kansas. My wife is completing her 35th year as a
public school teacher and librarian. Our family enjoys traveling, especially
to the mountains were we can snowshoe in the winter and hike and fish for
trout during the summer.
