The Wichita State University M3 Project Evaluation will take place over a period of three years.  The purpose of the evaluation will be to:

  • Provide information for use in project planning, management and improvement.

  • Provide compelling evidence for stakeholders, including funding agencies, about project outcomes and impacts.

  • To document the achievement of milestones set for accomplishment of major components of the M3 grant.

The evaluation plan will incorporate several features that include:

  1. Establishing a project baseline of present levels of implementation, use, and adoption of practices associated with goals and objectives established for the grant.
  2. Gathering credible and relevant data from a variety of sources over the life of the grant that will be useful to project leadership, and provide valid information that can be used in making judgments about project work, areas that need attention, and project effects.
  3. The utilization of a variety of data gathering techniques including, document review, surveys, on-line questionnaires and interviews.

M3 Stakeholders will be involved in the evaluation as collaborators and co-constructors of the M3 innovations and of the evaluation process, rather than being viewed as subjects or passive recipients of the innovation. The evaluation will attempt to systematically document the impact of M3 activities across definable groups involved in the project.

Underlying all M3 Project evaluation efforts will be a broader examination of the roles that technological innovations may play in preparing pre-service teachers to become technologically proficient.
